We’ve been brewing beer in Stirchley, Birmingham since 2016 creating a selection of quality beers that all Brummies can drink, enjoy, and be proud to put their name to.
We believe the only way to make exceptional, distinctive beer is to use the best ingredients around. What’s more, all our beers are vegan and gluten free so that anyone can enjoy them – even those from out of town!
Our mission is to make great-tasting, distinctive beer using the best ingredients we can find.
Through our core selection and beyond, we’ve sourced the best British Floor Malt, hops, barley, oats and much more to create the best beer for every Brummie in every occasion. Did you know? Welsh mountain water makes up the majority of our brews!
As part of our commitment to only using the best ingredients, and to making a positive impact in the community through our beer, all our beers are vegan and gluten-free so that everyone can enjoy them.
WHY GLUTEN FREE? Fish guts are used in most beers as a way to clear the beer. We wanted to do things differently. After some research and experimentation we realised that we could use an enzyme instead to clear the beer. As a happy coincidence, the enzyme also deglutenises the beer, making everything we brew gluten free, vegan and much nicer to brew!
All our beers are lab tested and contain less than 20pmm of gluten.
As part of our commitment to brewing a positive impact in the community, all of our operations in the brewery and taproom are fuelled by 100% renewable sources such as wind and solar power.
We also make sure that we don’t leave any negative impact with the waste we produce either. Our brewing waste is collected by Park Farm in Frankley and is used as livestock feed, while all of our packaging and non-brewing waste is recycled.
Beer brings people together and local business help build communities in the city we all love. At Birmingham Brewing Company, we hope to do just that by providing top notch brews to top notch Brummies while maintaining a socially conscious business.
We also like to give back to our communities that do so much for us. Our current charity partnership is this Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, where we donate 5% of the sales of Sober Brummie to the charity and support them in as many ways as possible.
Throughout the lockdowns of 2020/21 we wanted to do more than deliver beers to your door. Important as that was (!) we wanted to support our lockdown heroes, so many of our lockdown brews included donations to charity, such as our iconic Self Isolating Brummie which donated 5% of sales to Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid.
